Holiday Visits & Candlelight Tours

The Christmas season at Biltmore is magical—and also the busiest. If your schedule allows, visit midweek for smaller crowds. Planning to come during the holidays or for a candlelight tour? Be sure to book your room at Albemarle Inn and your tickets well in advance, especially for weekend stays.

Start at the Welcome Center

Even if you already have your tickets, make time to stop by the Welcome Center after entering the Biltmore gates. Watch the short orientation video and get any last-minute updates.

Getting Around the Estate

From the front gate, it's about a 2-mile drive to the main parking areas. Free shuttles are available to take you to the front of the house, or you can choose to park closer and enjoy a scenic walk.

Begin with the House Tour

The self-guided house tour takes about two hours. Take your time—it's worth it. Wear comfortable shoes and enjoy the stunning architecture, intricate details, and historic charm of this grand estate.

Lunch & Shopping at the Stable Courtyard

After your house tour, head to the nearby Stable Courtyard. Grab lunch at the Stable Cafe and browse through charming gift shops and boutiques.

Don't Miss the Gardens

Just steps from the house, explore the Italian Garden and tranquil ponds. The Walled Garden and Conservatory are especially stunning—an easy, one-mile round-trip walk. Continue through the Azalea Garden to the Bass Pond for a more serene stroll.

Visit the Winery & Antler Hill Village

Hop in your car or catch the estate shuttle to Antler Hill Village. Your admission includes a complimentary wine tasting. Spend time exploring the wine shop, estate stores, and rotating exhibits at the Legacy building.
